What is included in the childcare website packages?

When you purchase any level of our website packages, you will receive a complete custom designed website with your text, photos, and keywords. You just have to send us your content and we do all the rest. We create the website, set up your web hosting, publish your new site, and send you the instructions for making changes to your new site.

What is the total cost?

Our Website Package fees are outlined on the packages page, with the addition of any optional extras you may choose to enhance your website. The only ongoing cost is the website hosting which can be billed either Monthly or on an annual basis, and your domain registration renewals.

How do I get started?

Can I change the names of my pages?

Yes - you can call the pages of your website what ever you like. You can create your pages to suit your particular requirements.

Can I link up my social media accounts to my website?  

Yes your sure can, and there are a few options for you to consider as well!  We can place social media icons on your website that link directly to your social media pages.  We can also add  Facebook Like button directly onto your website or even embed your live Facebook feed onto any page on your website so visitors can view, like etc directly form your website.  Using an embeded feed can be a great way to showcase more of what your centre has to offer.

We use Xplor (or other external online enrolment software) - can we link this to our website?

Yes you can.  We can link a simple button link, or we can embed the widget or online form directly onto your website so existing families can log in and new families can register and apply for enrolment directly from your website. Click here to read more about embedding things on to your website.

How do we put our Enrolment Form on our Website? 

You have a couple of options when it comes to your enrolment form. Firstly you can attach your Enrolment form as a Pdf document and families can click to view it, download it, print it and bring it in to the centre in person.  You also have the option of an online enrolment form - we have a standard online enrolment form that covers all of the standard information you will require to contact the parents and offer them a place at your centre.  This option is great for centres with a waiting list, a centre that is still under construction to generate enrolment enquiries, or an existing centre to streamline their enrolment process.  You can view a sample of our standard online enrolment form here.  We can also create custom online forms to suit your specific requirements. 

Why have a Photo Gallery?

A photo gallery can be a great asset to your website and also your business.  A photo gallery can hold a large number of photos and will transition through each photo with the option of play, pause and full screen views. Your photos can also display image descriptions if required. The gallery feature is SUPER easy to use - no need to resize your images first - your website does all the work for you.

Because the gallery is such a great addition to your website, you may choose to have a few different galleries on your website to showcase different elements of your service:  

  • A Centre Gallery - show of your centres 'best bits' to potential new families by providing them with an online tour of your indoor and outdoor learning environments, and any other great program inclusions you have to offer!  
  • An Events Gallery - this is a great way to display the different events, incursions and excursions that the children at your service participate in, from teddy bear picnics to fireman visits and special outings.
  • A Children's Art Gallery - a gallery dedicated to the learning journeys that creativity and imagination brings

Can we put videos onto our website?

Videos are a great way to get your information across to potential new families.  There are many different ways of putting videos onto a website, however, we highly recommend using YouTube to embed your videos on your website as YouTube is compatible with 99% of all devices that people use to go online.  YouTube videos are super easy to embed on to your website and can be pretty much any size that you need them to be.  Click here for a sample and to read more about embedding things on to your website.

Is there a limit to how many words or pictures i can have on my website?

You are not limited to the number of words or images you can have on your website. The only limitation is the amount of hosting space your web hosting package allows. Depending on your  website package, Your hosting space will be 1Gb for the Red Package, 2Gb for the Yellow Package and 5Gb for the Blue Package, which is plenty of room for most websites. This amount of space can be expanded if required. Please ask us for more information regarding this.

What is a Header Panel and a Slider Panel?

A "Header" panel panel is the top section of your website that displays your business name/Logo. A Slider Panel has a series of images or text that periodically change (using transitions form 1 panel to the next) allowing you the flexibility to display more images or information on your slider panel.

What is web hosting, and why do I need it?

Every website on the internet is hosted on a web host. A web host is a server located in a data centre which is connected to the internet 24/7 and allows your website to be visible to everyone at all times. The web host also handles your email accounts and your incoming and outgoing emails. Our host is located here in Australia and has 24/7 tech support and is backed up daily for security.

What is a domain name?

A domain name functions on the Internet in a similar way to a physical address in the physical world. Your domain name is the address where your website lives online - for example: www.yourbusinessname.com.au
It is also used for your email address. for example: info@yourbusinessname.com.au

How do I register a domain for my website?

We can register your domain on your behalf.  Your domain will be registered in your name/business name using the information you provide to us.

Can I register more than one domain name?

Yes you can.  We can link multiple domain names to your website. There are many reasons you may have multiple domains and these may range from Google Search Engine rankings, to having the convenience of a simple or shortened domain option for your email address.

What is a CMS (Content Management System?)

A Content Management System is a web based application that allows you to create the content for your website. The CMS takes care of all the tasks like creating the page structure etc. You do not install any new software on your machine as it is used within your current web browser. No knowledge of HTML code is necessary, as all editing can take place in an editor similar to that of Microsoft Word.

I don't have a logo. Can you create one?

If you currently do not have a logo - your Centres' name will be added to the design as a simple text based logo. We can have one of our graphic artists design a professional logo for your childcare centre from $300 depending on the complexity of the logo. Our Graphic designer will contact you to discuss your logo requirements and a design process will commence for the design of your logo.

How do I supply my website information to you?

We require that all website text content be supplied in a text format (Microsoft Word document).  All images need to be supplied as individual image files (sample.jpg) Please make your direction clear and concise - giving us direction as to which page the text is for, and also noting any images you wish to display on the relevant page. You have the option of emailing this information to us, using DropBox/OneDrive or equivalent, or posting it us on cd or USB.  We can then take the content and add it to your website as instructed.

What if I don't have the time to keep my website up to date?

We understand that your day is often busy enough keeping up with the day to day stuff, so we are always on hand to make changes to your website for you - just send us an email with your required changes and we will get it sorted for you. If you require ongoing assistance on a regular basis, we also offer Maintenance plans, designed to your specific needs. Whether you need some help for a few hours a week, or a few hours a month, we can arrange a plan that suits your ongoing needs. Everything from adding or removing content to a general tidy up to keep things "looking nice and tidy"

What is a Content Page?

A content page is a page on your website for text or images. This page is accessed by the main menu (For example - Home page, an About Us page, Events page, Frequently Asked Questions page)  OR via a link on another page (for example - "Click here to view our _______" )

What would I use the Calendar of Events for?

The calendar of Events can be displayed on either a PUBLIC page, or a restricted Members page (if you have selected the blue package), depending on your requirements.

The calendar can be an important tool to showcase the up-coming variety of educational, multicultural and entertaining experiences/events at your Centre, or even just important dates not to forget (like staff birthdays).

This is a great reminder for both parents and staff, and also displays to potential new families the events/experiences that your service provides.

There are 2 options for your calendar of events - a Yearly View or a Monthly View. Deciding on what calendar is best suited to your needs will depend on many factors.  Click here to view a sample of the 2 calendar options for your website.

Children's Online Portfolios & Learning Stories

There are a wide variety of online portfolio services now available to childcare providers that allow you to have your children's' documentation and portfolios online, secure and available to your centres parents to view an to provide you with feedback.  These services are terrific for both educators and parents and are an excellent accompaniment to your website. Explore what online portfolio service is right for you and your centre as they all vary in both features and cost - many provide free trials for you to explore.  Which ever online portfolio service you chose to go with, we can provide an "easy link" on your website directly to your online portfolios so its nice an easy for your parents and staff to access this information online.  A few of these online portfolio services include: Story ParkLift Portfolios and EducaPlease note - we have no affiliation with any of these services - these services have been recommended to us from existing clients.

What is a Members login section?

This is where a person can log in with their own unique user name and password (issued to them by the Administrator). This log in allows them to view the restricted member pages of the website in their members section (for example - Parent or Staff member pages).
Please note - The restricted Members page feature is only available on sites with the "Log-in Section" addition. (This is included in the Deluxe Website Package or can be an optional extra with the other packages. See our Packages for more details)

What is a Public page?

This is a page that any one that goes to your website can view. Your Home page, About Us and Contact Us pages are all public pages.  All pages in our Red Package & Yellow Package are all Public pages. (See our Packages for more details)

(Please note- Due to confidentiality reasons, no photo's of children should be displayed on a public page without written consent from the legal parent or guardian of that child.)

What is a Members Page ?

This is a page on your website that can only be viewed by people logging in with a unique user name and password which has been previously set up via the Administration Area for your website. Members can be added or removed (by you) via the administration area of your website. Through Administration, these people will be assigned into either a parent member group, or staff member group, thus limiting them to a particular member section/area and the pages and content within that area. These "members only" areas are a great place to provide things like centre polices, photos of the children, centre forms, staff information etc...

What is the restricted "Parent Home Page" used for?

This page is the "Home Page" that parent members will see when they first log-in to the parent member section using their unique user name and password.

This page can not be viewed by the general public, therefore this page can have whatever information you would like on there, including photos of children (with parent permission of course), news about the rooms, changes to centre policies, and any other information you want your families to have access to, but not the general public. 
Please note - The restricted Members page feature is only available on sites with the "Log-in Section" addition. (This is included in the Deluxe Website Package or can be an optional extra with the other packages. See our Packages for more details)

What is the restricted "Staff Home Page" used for?

This page is the "Home Page" that staff members will see when they first log-in to the staff member section using their unique user name and password.

This page can have links to other staff members only pages - for example  - a Staff Roster Page - Staff  Planner where staff can plan annual leave, see RDO's, staff meetings and training dates, a Links page for staff to download forms such as Holiday leave Application Forms etc...

This page can not be viewed by the general public, therefore this page can have whatever information you would like on there, including photos of children (with parent permission of course), news about the rooms, changes to centre policies, and any other information you want your staff to have access to, but not the general public.

Is there a limit to how many Newsletters & Memo's I can send?

The Blue Package offers a Newsletters & Memo Feature. There is NO limit to how many you can send. You can send as many Newsletters and Memos as you wish as often as you like. Your hosting account does have bandwidth restrictions - so this will determine the amount of data that can be sent from your website.

Staff Planner /Calendar

This is a great tool for planning staff holidays and Rostered Days Off, staff meetings, staff First Aid Training etc.... This calendar is displayed on a members restricted page within the Staff log-in section, so therefore can only be accessed by staff with their own unique user name and password. This planner is a very handy tool for Directors when planning their rosters, being able to see at a glance, when staff have their RDO's or Holidays booked in.  This planner is also a great tool for Staff to plan their annual leave from the comfort of their own home - seeing what times are available. You can also have Annual Leave forms linked to your site which allows staff members to plan their annual leave using the Holiday Planner, and then print out the necessary forms they need - all ready to hand in at work the next day.
